This is really weird. Some of you may know, I'm writing in another blog. I'd rather not stoop to advertising here, so if anyone's interested in reading it, email me. A couple friends and I are doing a creative writing type deal on it with varying amounts of success, at least for my part. The first couple times, it seemed so much easier to write in that blog than it did in this one, but for the past couple days it's been completely the reverse.
I find it so frustrating when I can't think of anything at all to write. My main motive for starting this blog, and the other one I'm contributing to is to improve my writing and communication skills, so it's not as though I view any of this as a chore. Scratch that, it is a chore at times, but it's one I take on willingly, because otherwise I won't be pushing my abilities, and will leave any talent I may have undeveloped. So for that reason, I'm quite willing to endure the frustration.
For the past little while, I"ve been concentrating more on the other blog, rather than this one because of the fact that there are other people participating in it. I want to push myself to write in the other blog because it (hopefully) makes it a better experience for the other writers.
Since I can't seem to come up with anything for the other blog, I return to this one.
But enough about that.
I just downloaded an Atari emulator today. I've been looking for one for a couple years, so today was a good day for me, writer's block aside. For anyone who's not familiar with emulators, they're programs built by kindhearted computer genuises that act like game consoles, play video games on your computer. So now I can play all my old favourite Atari games on my computer. It's hard to convey how awesome I think that is. I guess I'm not that old, but I kind of felt that way, when I first started playing Chopper Command and Adventure just a couple hours ago. The atari console was the first game system I ever used. My parents bought it for my brother and I waaaaaaaaaaay back in the day because we were living in a tiny little town with nothing to do, and I guess they didn't want us going out and doing drugs or robbing liquor stores and whatnot.
Anyways, it's been over 20 years since I first started playing Atari games, so this emulator takes me way back.
Ya so, this may be awfully boring for all you kiddies out there, but I'm pretty psyched. I can think of at least one or two people who'd be tickled pink to play some of these games, maybe more. If anyone's interested, and has had the same trouble I've had finding an emulator, lemme know.
Besides that, nothing much going on. Still working, no better or worse there. They just hired a new dishwasher, which is kinda cool. Speaking of work, Nitz is looking for a new job. He asked me to go pick up an application at my work for him. I think that'd be interesting, working with him. Everyone who knows him can imagine what I mean. But I'd look forward to it.
